Keld

Age, location, education?
1981, Aarhus, Denmark. Educated designer. Art wise I´m educated on the streets.

How long have u been living there?
On and off for a couple of years. We´ll probably head for another place within a couple of years.

Where do you get your inspiration?
From awkward things and thoughts, weighty people, humour. Comics, vinyl toys, pop stuff and the works of some of the late poster artists and illustrators from the early- and mid 1900s - people like Sven Brasch, Palle Nielsen, Enoch Bolles etc.

What's your favourite color?
Black is the new black. Anything goes.

When are you the most productive?
In-between the point where the first hard-to-determine lines are drawn and the point where the actual character of the drawing is coming to live. Due to my design job, for now I´m often most productive in the evening and during weekends.

Where is your favourite vacation-spot?
Any major city in Europe really. Berlin and Paris are particularly cool because the both have some of the classical metropolitan virtues mixed with a lot of chilled urban spots for relaxing. Barcelona because of the relaxed vibe and the weather. Hamburg is top notch and not too far from where we live right now. And NYC - I was there for the first time this summer and had a vacation beyond compare.

What kind of music do you like?
I listen to jazz on the radio, have tons of gangsta rap cd´s and a brother who´s shredding guitars in a metal band. I like varity. My latest iTunes import says Daedelus, The Crooked Spoke, Hi-Fidel, Uzi and Ari and Black Milk.

Any exhibitions planned this year?
My debut exhibition (Royal Flush @ Atticus Gallery, Barcelona) has just ended, so now I´m working on connecting up on some new stuff. No plans yet. I would like to do some collaboration stuff with people from foreign cities. Maybe hook up with a good manufacturer to work on some vinyl stuff.

What is your favourite material to work on?
Paper and a fresh Illustrator document.

What are your tools? (special pens, colors etc.)
Mechanical pens and a lot of anchor points paired up with eye-twinkles and imagination.
