Robin T // Interview
Alter, Ort, Ausbildung?

23, Stuttgart, Graphicdesigner

Wie lange wohnst du dort?

Since September 2005.

Woher nimmst du die Inspiration für deine Bilder?

Uhm it's pretty hard to point on something certain. People I see or imagine and the stories and connections I see in them often play a very important role to my work. But it can be anything... some weird looking litter in the streets, a photograph, smoke-filled bars and what not.

Was ist deine Lieblingsfarbe?

Oh there's no special favourite color wich lasts very long. It changes all the time but I always tended to love working with black and white.

Wann bist du am produktivsten?

Quite often I like to work at night. Sometimes I really appreciate being alone. It helps me think - I guess I'm pretty distractable ^^ There are only a few things wich are finer than this cup of coffee, a cigarette and the view from my studio's windows at 5 o'clock in the morning - if the night was productive.

Wo machst du am liebsten Urlaub?

Actually I've never been in an airplane. I never had the chance so far. There was a lot of work to do and hurdles to take for me the last couple years. But I hope that soon I can erase that lack of traveling. I'm pretty thankful that I was lucky enough to meet a lot of people from all over the world through my work - even though I haven't moved a lot. Spots I definitly want to hit are... Sweden, Iceland, London, Tokio and the westcoast of the States.

Was für Musik hörst du gern?

Haha...hm I think the best answer to this question would be "a damn lot of". I pretty much listen to music all the time. I grew up to have a punkrock and hardcore "background" of some sort, but I also find something in music wich is more like indie, post-harcore/-punk, folk, country, avantgarde and also selected electronic music. But conspicuously often I like when it has something "edgy" and "weird" in it.

Sind dieses Jahr Ausstellungen geplant?

In June I'll attend to my first flight. I'll take part at a group exhibition and live painting in Amsterdam (at Spui Square). Hosts will be the Dutch design team MakiMaki and Laurence King Publishings from London. In July, I'll hit Bright Tradeshow in Frankfurt a.M., Germany. During 3 days I'll exhibit couple of my works and I plan to finish a big canvas right at the tradeshow. Also the brand AVEAL will present its Spring/Summer 2009 collection, wich contains, a lot of artwork by me ( www.brighttradeshow.com ). Autumn is not quite set yet. But in the moment I'm planning a shop-tour doodling on stuff in shops all over Germany - and maybe also Austria and the Netherlands.

Auf welchem Material arbeitest du am liebsten?

Oh I like to work on all sorts of stuff I get into my hands. From canvas over apparel to walls or even club toilets (which I did) - depends on my mood.

Was sind deine Werkzeuge? (besondere Stifte, Farben etc.)

Since years I love to work with feather and ink. Lately I work a lot with acrylic color and spraypaint. I do a lot of shirt-designs also, therefore I got used to see the computer as another tool to express things, but everything I do starts with a piece of paper and a pencil.
