We're a duo, but we've been around for 2 years now, I think. We live and work in São Paulo. We are half self taught, half taught from this book: http://www.amazon.com/How-Draw-101-Animals-Green/dp/1842297406/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232402340&sr=8-1 We're still halfway done on the lessons.
How long have u been living there?
I don't know, about 5 years.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Our biggest inspiration is deadlines. Nothing beats having to fill up a page by the next day for you to start making things up pretty quick. Other inspirations are: money, fame, cats.
What's your favourite color?
Don't be silly. No color.
When are you the most productive?
Either after we haven't done anything for a while and are getting back at it, or right when the deadline gets tight, as we've mentioned before. We don't really match on that, Julio likes working late nights and Gringo likes to get things done early in the morning.
Where is your favourite vacation-spot?
I think the only place we've been together outside São Paulo is in Buenos Aires, which we just got back from. They have good steak.
What kind of music do you like?
We don't agree so much on that. We both love Flight of the Conchords though.
Any exhibitions planned this year?
Yeah, we've been talking about getting something together here in São Paulo by the middle of the year. If it works out it'll be awesome. The last one we did was a lot of framed drawings and a couple of walls, this one would be more drawing on objects, furniture, walls and stuff. Hopefully we'll get to do something overseas ( or just over borders ) soon. Oh, we have some more stuff with ROJO coming up, but it's a group thing. It's gonna be great.
What is your favourite material to work on?
A nice smooth wall is nice, but we're still photoshop geeks, a tablet is the best material ever. We still haven't tried drawing on a virgin lady's skin, but we'll get to that soon. Julio likes to draw penises on other people's things, but that's more like his solo work.
What are your tools? (special pens, colors etc.)
For handmade stuff we still haven't found the best tools. We made a shoe once but hated the marker, so we have to work on that. The walls were ok, but the pens were expensive and looked like crap on the rougher textures. And on paper the pen kinda sometimes kinda fades into a greenish black. To be honest we're not that picky, but once we find something good we'll probably stick to it. Good and cheap.
